We are excited to announce our partnership with The Giving Block to launch and promote the Decentr non-fungible token (NFT) collection.

Our NFT is designed to unlock value on certain features of the Decentr platform, delivering added value to users by boosting the PDV of NFT holders when using dLoans (with other utility to be added). A percentage of all funds raised will go to supporting the amazing work of our charity partners (of which more in an upcoming partner announcements).

The Giving Block

The Giving Block is the preeminent crypto donation solution, providing an ecosystem for nonprofits and charities to fundraise Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, be found by crypto donors, receive funds instantly, and become part of a network of crypto media partners to support their missions.

The Giving Block’s work also includes support for NFT projects with a charitable dimension, with partnerships including Ethereum Address Service (EAS), Media Eye and Nifty Gateway.

In conjunction with The Giving Block, we are in touch with several charities whose work we believe in, and are currently developing our NFT strategy with our selected charity partners.

Decentr’s Synergy with The Giving Block

We as a company are in tune with The Giving Block’s mission and ethos of ensuring crypto continues to be a force for good. By browsing the Internet with Decentr, individuals, businesses, charities, non-profits and their communities benefit from all the security and economic opportunities created through Web3, including crypto, NFTs and other digital assets in our new data economy.

Our NFT Utility

A great NFT requires two key features: 1) unique and compelling utility, and 2) unique and compelling art.

1) Utility: A key early feature that allows users to benefit economically from their data is Decentr’s Peer-to-Peer (P2P) decentralised loans (dLoans) feature: the more data that users generate, the better their loan rates. We are currently Beta testing our dLoans pilot program in Peru, and are now expanding into Chile.

We are implementing unique NFT utility to accelerate the awareness and adoption of our dLoans feature: dLoans ensures for borrowers that interest rates are lower the more data that users generate, reuse and exchange. Lenders benefit from higher yields by using our browser in the same way. Our NFT utility (NFTs representing data) amplifies these benefits: NFT holders further decrease interest rates for borrowers while further increasing yields for lenders.

2) NFT Art: Our aim is to involve the community in the creation, selection and promotion of the art we choose for our NFT — in this way, the process itself becomes part of our awareness-raising activities. In conjunction with The Giving Block, we will be launching our ‘NFTs for Good’ art contest, with the winning design forming the basis of a 9,999 piece NFT collection. A percentage of the NFT sale is being donated to our charity partner.

Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement on 15th April (which falls on World Art Day), when we officially launch the NFT contest in conjunction with our amazing art promoter partners (also more details about them on the 15th). So prepare to pick up your digital paint brushes and canvases and start getting creative…
